“This is a beautiful, accomplished, and compelling film. An authentic and poignant portrayal of a remarkable woman and her love of the natural world.”
Sarah Pitt — CPRE, The Countryside Charity, in Avon and Bristol
The Film
For third-generation farmer Catherine Withers, Yew Tree Farm means everything. It is her home, her livelihood, and a haven for wildlife. But the urban population of Bristol is growing, and the threat of development looms ever closer. Catherine’s nature-friendly farming practices are enough to protect the wildlife on her farm, but what will it take to protect the farm itself?
The Message
The UK is one of the world’s most nature-depleted countries, with 1 in 6 species at risk of extinction. Small farms like Yew Tree Farm are vital for producing sustainable food, supporting wildlife, and fostering local resilience. As these farms vanish across the UK, Catherine’s fight underscores their essential role in the food system and the deep interconnection between agriculture and nature.
